International recording artiste Orisha Sound is in high spirits as she prepares for her upcoming appearance at Sting 2014.
The multi-talented artist has performed at a number of major events locally, including the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival and GT’s Christmas Extravaganza, but this will be her first time performing on the famed Sting stage.

Orisha will be one of the featured acts in the EDH segment of the legendary concert, which is known as the greatest one night show on earth. “I am really looking forward to performing at Sting, it will be my first appearance on Sting and I plan to make the most of it.

Everyone says the Sting crowd is hard to please, but I’m up to the task. I’m preparing a very exciting performance for all the patrons who will be in attendance,” said the artist. Orisha recently returned to the island after a month long promotional tour of Europe in support of her sophomore album titled 1 Reggae.
“It’s great to be back in Jamaica, since I returned from Europe I’ve been very busy in the studios and I’ve also been doing a lot of work promoting my album too,” she said. Also on the cards for Orisha is the production of a special edition of 1 Reggae. This special edition album will take the form of a double CD, featuring all the songs on the original version of 1 Reggae on one CD and a second CD featuring collaborations done with a number of top African artistes.

This project will be produced by award winning South African producer Alex Faku who coproduced Orisha’s latest single, Gimmi Di Beat. “This is going to be a very special project, the reason we are doing it, is because 1 Reggae is doing so great in Africa. Alex will be here by next week, as soon as he gets here we are going to start working on the project,” said Orisha.
