Over the course of Shinehead's impressive career, he has evolved as a true music connoisseur, sharing an unprecedented love and historical account of Reggae and Hip Hop music. In fact, he has without question played a pivotal role in bridging these art forms, scoring mainstream success with major hits like "Gimme No Crack" and "Chain Gang" and many others. But these highly visible songs, which fused Dancehall and Hip Hop flavor just barely touch on the unique tapestry and depth of his artistry. At any given moment, Shinehead can incredibly don the hat of singer, deejay, rapper and sound man. Whether taking on a singjay approach of just lyrically flowing freestyle, there are very few in this artist's league.
"I know that Shinehead loves 'Rub-a-Dub' and will do 'Reeewind' justice....while I have been a fan of his for years, it was during the Welcome to Jamrock cruise that the full breadth of his talent struck me and opened up a world of opportunities."
Although this is Shinehead's premiere on the "Reeewind" stage, the dynamic artist has mastered performing in a Rub-a-Dub style. Traveling with vinyl and selecting and deejaying on his Kingston 12 Hi-Fi system with his hip and talented partner DJ Papalotl, Shinehead flawlessly recaptures the rudimental elements of Dancehall music and culture during his live performances and on radio. Notably, Kingston 12 Hi-Fi can be heard each Sunday night during "Reeewind Sundays" on Irish and Chin's sound system infused station, Sound Chat Radio (irishandchin.com), and on dubforceradio.com and huskeyradio.com.
It's going to be a historic night during the 6th installment of "Reeewind," when Shinehead is joined by Reggae giants Freddie McGregor, Richie Spice, Cocoa Tea, Josey Wales, Brigadier Jerry, Charlie Chaplin, General Trees and Carlton Livingston. Buying tickets early is a must, as it will be more at the door.
