Dancehall artiste Latty J is swiftly moving up the musical ladder.

The talented beauty who hails from August Town, St. Andrew placed second in the popular Rising Stars TV talent show in 2011. Shortly afterwards she was signed by famous Dancehall recording star Mr Vegas to his MV Music Label.

Since signing to the label Latty J has made her mark on the local music scene by releasing a handful of hard-hitting singles which includes Who Rule ft. Mr Vegas, Teenie, Same Pay and Bumpa.

“It’s not easy to make it in the music business; you have to have a strong team and the right connections. I feel very blessed to be working with Mr. Vegas and the MV Music team. Their support has helped me to make tremendous progress in my career in a very short time, and I am very grateful for that.

Latty J is currently enjoying much attention with an anti-abuse track called No Abuse.

This song was produced by Mr Vegas on the Tables Turn rhythm and released on his MV Music label in July. Since then it has enjoyed steady rotation both locally and abroad.

“No Abuse is doing well; I am pleased with the response it is getting. I hope that in time to come it will get even more rotation. The message of this song is very important and I want it to be heard by people all over the world. It's time for women to stand up for themselves and be strong,” said the artiste.

Latty J recently completed a month-long tour of Europe alongside Mr Vegas and her label mate Natel. She is currently preparing to leave the island again. This time she is heading to the US West coast.

“Things have been moving very fast I just got home from Europe a couple weeks ago. I had a great time over there. We did a lot of shows all over the continent it was an enjoyable experience. Since I came back home, I’ve been very busy in the studios working on some new songs. Now I’m getting ready to hit the road again with Vegas and Natel for the US West coast leg of the Reggae Euphoria tour,” said Latty J.
